Voters urged to return postal packs promptly

PR2126/TC/MF - 09/10/2017

Postal voters in the Imberhorne area of East Grinstead are encouraged to return their ballots to Mid Sussex District Council as soon as possible to avoid any potential delays caused by a postal strike.

By-elections for Mid Sussex District Council and East Grinstead Town Council will be held on Thursday 26 October following the death of Councillor Bob Mainstone, who sadly passed away in August.

“We have dispatched postal vote ballots to all registered postal voters in the Imberhorne area and they should be with electors shortly,” said Tom Clark, Returning Officer for Mid Sussex.

“Royal Mail announced on Friday that postal workers will be undertaking industrial action for 48 hours from 19 October 2017. It is essential that we receive all postal vote packs by close of polls 26 October 2017 at the very latest, so we are urging voters to return their completed postal vote packs as soon as possible to avoid any delays.”
