Record attendance at successful autumn Play Day events
PR2023025 - 13/11/2023
Mid Sussex District Council is celebrating the success of three Play Day events that took place during the October half term.
The family-friendly gatherings, tailored for children under the age of 10, took place across the district, with events in Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Haywards Heath.
More than 800 people attended the events that offered children and families a chance to take part in activities including arts and crafts, circus skills, mini golf, football, and DJ workshops.
Deputy Leader of Mid Sussex District Council, Councillor Alison Bennett, attended the Burgess Hill event. She said: “Following our successful summer season, I was delighted that the Play Day events were extended into October half term.
“It was heart-warming to see so many families having a fantastic time and enjoying all the free activities on offer, and I want to express my appreciation to our dedicated providers for their efforts in creating engaging activities for our community.”
Almost 3,500 members of the community enjoyed the free events through the summer and autumn, a significant increase compared to previous years.
