Examination News Updates

Stage 1 Hearings of the Mid Sussex District Plan Examination were held on Tuesday 22nd October until Thursday31st October. The hearings took place in the Council Chamber, Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1SS.

Public Observation of the Stage 1 Hearings
There is a public gallery in the Council Chamber for public observation. The hearings were also live streamed and are stored on the Council’s YouTube Channel for Public Observation. Please use this link to view the hearings.

Hearing Statements are published on the examination webpage below in Matter order. An updated programme with participants has been published under Inspector’s Documents. The Programme will continue to be updated, so please keep checking the webpage for updates. Post Submission Evidence Base Documents have been published on the examination webpage under the headings Post Submission Documents. This includes evidence documents the Council have referred to in their Hearing Statements. These Documents referred to in the Council's hearing Statements have also been published along with their relevant Matter Statements.

District Plan 2021 – 2039 Examination

The District Plan 2021 – 2039 was formally submitted to the Planning Inspectorate on Monday 8th July 2024.

The Secretary of State has appointed Louise Nurser BA(Hons), Dip UP MRTPI to hold an independent examination of the Mid Sussex District Plan Review.

Programme Officer

The Programme Officer undertakes the administration of the examination under the direction of the Planning Inspector and all communications are handled by the Programme Officer.
